It seems like my only (!) big black bag somehow knew that I was working on another big bag when it broke: the Stella McCartney Falabella bag. Even though my budget does not allow getting this dream bag, this does not stop me from getting a Falabella. I simply used my fall holidays to DIY one myself and now I´m showing you how to make one for yourself.
Was ihr braucht:
50cm ( Kunst) Leder
3m Gliederkette
6m Lederband
Zange ( die könnt ihr hier bekommen)
Lochzange ( die findet ihr hier)
Nähmaschine
Schere
Nadel und Pfaden
What you need :
50 cm of (fake) leather
3m of chain
6m of leather cord
pliers ( you can get one here)
punch pliers ( you can get yours here)
sewing machine
siccors
needle and thread
Step 1: Cut out one piece of leather with the measures 36x82cm ( piece 1) and 2 pieces of leather with the measures 9x27cm.
Afterwards, curve off the edges on one side of piece 2 and for piece 1 measure out 8,5 cm of length and 8 cm of width on the four edges and cut them out to create the typical Falabella form.
Step 2: Measure out 1,5 cm at the edge and draw a line all around the purse, then punch holes in the fabric in 0,8cm distance to each other on all of the pieces.
Step 3 : Fold piece 1 in half so that the edges are above each other and pin the two other pieces of the sides of the bag.
Step 4: Sew 1,5cm away from the edges to fixate the side pieces to the main piece. Make sure that the holes are matching.
Step 5: Add the chain to the bag by using the leather cord. First weave the cord through the chain and then through the hole. Repeat until you are back at the beginning.
And you´re done !
I hope you guys like this post ! Personnaly I really like the purse and I didn´t expect it to look that great at the end. Soon, I´m going to show you an outfit with my new purse.

Wow awesome! So so cool that you made this from scratch. I prefer it when the flap is closed though. But I just prefer small purses (one of a few I suppose ^^)

Thanks for your comment.
DeleteI usually prefer small purses, too, but that´s exactly the reason why I needed one with more storage room.

The same is true for basket woven leathers, though the leather will not be as soft. leather tech organizer
