Montréal Travel Diary

Übernachtet haben wir in den Candlewood Studios in Downtown Montréal. Aufgrund der super zentralen Lage konnten wir alles zu Fuß erkunden und mussten nicht auf öffentliche Verkehrsmittel zurückgreifen. Wir kamen nachmittags an und haben uns anschließend dazu aufgemacht, Vieux-Montréal zu erkunden. Innerhalb von 5 min waren wir da. Die Straßen erinnern mich sehr an eine europäische Altstadt. Hier befinden sich viele Restaurants, aber auch Souvenirshops und andere Läden. Wenn man die Rue Saint Paul E in Richtung von Notre Dame weiter schlendert, trifft man auf den noblen Teil mit tollen Kunstgalerien, Restaurants und coolen Stores. 

We stayed at the Candlewood Studios in Downtown Montréal. This was really convenient, as we were able to walk everywhere due to its central location. We arrived in the afternoon and we decided to explore Vieux-Montréal. It only took us 5 minutes to walk there. The streets remind me of an old town in Europe. You can find a lot of restaurants, souvenirshops and other stores there. When you continue walking down Rue Saint Paul E in direction of Notre Dame, you´ll reach a more noble part with great art galleries, fancy restaurants and cool stores. 

 An unserem zweiten Tag haben wir Downtown erkundet. Die Rue Saint Catherine O ist die Haupteinkaufsstraße. Wir sind den ganzen Weg von dem Complexe Desjardins bis zur Rue de la Montagne (Anthropologie hat ihr einen Store!) gelaufen und man kann wirklich alles hier finden. Läden wie Forever 21 oder American Eagle gibt es hier, genauso wie Designerstores.

On our second day, we decided to walk through Downtown. Rue Saint Catherine O is a great street to shop. We walked all the way from the Complexe Desjardins to Rue de la Montagne ( Anthropologie is located in this street!). You can find everything here from Forever 21 to BCBG Max Azria and other designer stores. 

 Mein Vater wollte unbedingt das Olympia Stadion sehen, aber meiner Meinung nach ist es keinen Besuch wert. Das Stadion sieht schon total runtergekommen aus und die ganze Anlage gleicht einer Betonwüste.

My dad really wanted to visit the Olympia Stadium, but in my opinion, it´s not worth a visit. The stadium doesn´t look nice anymore and it´s like a desert of concrete. You could defenitely spend your time differently. 

Was ich euch wirklich empfehlen kann, ist zum Mont Royal zu fahren. Von diesem Berg hat man eine unglaublich tolle Sicht auf Montréal. Leider hat es total geregnet, als wir dort waren, weswegen die Aussicht nicht ganz so schön war. 

I can highly recommend going to Mont Royal. From there, you´ll have an amazing view of Montréal. Unfortunately, it was raining at the time we were there, so the view was quite cloudy. 

Wart ihr schon einmal in Montréal und habt ein paar Tipps? Mir hat es wirklich gut hier gefallen, allerdings muss man hier nicht unbedingt 3 Tage bleiben, sondern meiner Meinung nach reichen 2 Tage auch aus.

Have you ever been to Montréal and you have some tips? I really liked it there, but I think you don´t need to spend 3 days there. In my opinion, 2 days is enough.
