Travel Diary Toronto

Today, I am showing you the last part of my little travel diary series from the States and Canada. I still have some pictures from Boston and the Niagara Falls that I can show you, if you want to.
Toronto was another highlight from our vacation and I was super excited for this city. I didn´t really have any expectations, but I am sure, that all of them would have been surpassed. Toronto is a little comparable to New York ( big-city-wise), but everything looks brand new and it wasn´t hectic like New York, but see yourself...

After arriving in our hotel in the afternoon, we decided to explore the distillery district close to our hotel. The St. Lawrence Market is a market close to our hotel, but it was closed already, however, there are some nice restaurants close to it, where we had the most delicious Indian dinner at Bindia.
The Distillery District is one of my favorite places in Toronto. the brickhouses look amazing, and there are super lovely stores. The atmosphere is amazing with the chains of lights above your head and there no cars at all which is really nice to walk around the area.

In the evening, we walked from the Distillery District to the Union Station and to the CN Tower afterwards. The view was breathtaking, even though we weren´t even on top of the Tower.

After a yummy breakfast at our hotel, we were ready to explore more of Toronto. We started by walking down the longest street, called Yonge street. Luckily, it was Sunday, so there weren´t any cars. On this street, the Eaton Centre is located as well as "Toronto´s Times Square".

Afterwards, we took the subway up north to a rather expensive area, which was super beautiful as well. The atmosphere reminded me of the West Village in New York. Especially the Hazelton Lanes are worth a visit.

To see more of the diversity of the city, we took a street car through the ethnic neighborhoods. I always love seeing these areas, but in my opinion, in this case it´s not worth a visit. We hopped off the street car when we arrived at the harbor. The sun was shining and there was a little beach. I can highly recommend coming here in the summer as it´s really relaxing.

In the evening, we really wanted to go on the CN Tower to have a great view of the city. We got our tickets at 7 o´clock and 45 minutes later, we enjoyed a stunning view of Toronto! We stayed up there for 1,5 hours, so we were able to see the city at sunset and dark. I highly recommend visiting the CN Tower, it´s defenitely something you won´t forget. There are even restaurants up there!

I hope you like this travel diary as much as I love Toronto! One thing is for sure: I defenitely have to visit this city again, because two days are far too short. It really impressed me to see the city changing within 300 m from the Ontaria sea, to a little beach and the harbor to a big city with skyscrapers and the CN Tower-simply stunning!
