OUTFIT: HOW TO STYLE STATEMENT SNEAKERS

In my last DIY post (here) I showed you how to make these statement sneakers with the help of some textile colors and a lace table runner. Today, I am sharing my tips and tricks on how to style them!

1. STAY WITHIN THE SAME COLOR PALETTE
When wearing statement sneakers, the attention should be on them and not the fancy jacket you´re wearing with it. Therefore, it is the best to stay within in the color palette of the shoes for the rest of the outfit. Since my sneakers are kept in black, white and silver, I went for the simple combination of a white tee and black jeans. In order for the outfit not to look too plain

2. ADD A POP OF COLOR
for example with a jacket or a purse in a color that the sneakers do not contain. For this outfit, I chose a denim jacket, but I have also wore them with my beloved pink bomberjacket which I loved. Since my sneakers are monochrome in black and white with a few accents in silver, you can add whatever color you want.

3. TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM OTHER PATTERNED GARMENTS
Since my sneakers are patterned, it is better to avoid wearing them with another patterned item such as a dotted t-shirt or a leopard blouse. It looks much better to wear them with a simple white tee as the focus will be on the sneakers.
