Although we've been lucky with the weather in Germany the last couple of weeks with lots of sunshine and 20 degrees at the end of September, it's slowly, but surely, time to pack our summer stuff into boxes for good.
In case I've just reminded you of the fact that you haven't done the latter, wait until the end of this post, because you might feel the urge to take some things out of these boxes - because today is all about how to make your summer pieces fall and winter appropriate. Obviously, not everything can be worn all year`round (like bikinis - except you live somewhere in South-East Asia), but a lot of summer clothes are more versatile than you think (and I am not talking about wearing wool tights under your denim cut-offs).
T-SHIRTS AND LONGSLEEVES
Wearing your favorite tees and longsleeves under a cozy knit cardigan is defenitely nothing new, but there are other ways to make them appropriate for the cold season, too. Like wearing a skinny tee under your favorite knit jumpers! Like this, you won't have to wash your delicate knitwear too often which isn't only practical but also good for your knitwear!
THE CAMISOLE
The trend of wearing camisoles or slip dresses over a tee or a longsleeve is nothing new, however, I've only recently jumped on that trend bandwaggon. While I love wearing a striped tee under a black cami top, I am currently trying to get my hands on a skinnyfitting white knit to wear under afirmentioned camisole for a more autumn look. Especially because camisoles can look quite elegant and sexy, you can easily dress them down by pairing them with a tee.
FLOWY SKIRTS OR DRESSES
In case you've just put all of your flowy dresses and skirts into a box, take them out again! I am not a huge wearer of dresses and skirts, so you won't be seeing me sporting any dresses in winter - that doesn't mean you can't! Simply pair your dress with a knit cardigan or wear a skirt together with a chunky knit and some boots. I absolutely love how this combination looks on others!
